Overview

This is a full-time, hybrid role based out of our Dallas office with some periodic travel to Austin. This role focuses on the evaluation of customer IT environments and develops solutions that help their business run more efficiently.  The Onboarding Engineer will split time between two key functions:

  • Client Onboarding & Sales Engineering Support: Partnering with the sales team to onboard newly secured clients, evaluate their IT environments, and design tailored solutions as they transition to BNC’s “white glove” service model.
  • Field-Based IT Consulting: Providing hands-on support to clients, troubleshooting issues, executing projects, and serving as a trusted technical advisor primarily in the DFW market with periodic travel to client sites in the Austin area.

This role is pivotal in establishing strong client relationships, understanding unique business needs, and ensuring a smooth handoff to the long-term engineering team. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical depth, consulting acumen, and a proactive mindset. At BNC, being a trusted advisor with an outward mindset is as important as implementing the technology itself.

The position offers a unique balance of responsibilities and opportunities. About half your time is dedicated to executing and managing IT projects, ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction. The other half is focused on strategic engagement - a rare opportunity to meet with senior IT leadership at prospective clients to design impactful solutions and represent new accounts in high-level strategy sessions with upper management. Thanks to an intentionally low client workload, you’ll enjoy a flexible schedule while gaining a seat at the table that most engineers never experience, influencing decisions that shape both client success and organizational direction. This is more than a technical role - it’s a chance to shape client success and company strategy.

Business Network Consulting has supported the entire IT infrastructure of businesses in the Denver, Dallas, and Austin areas since 1997. This is a fast-paced environment, and those who join the team will have a strong personal drive to succeed, operate independently within a structured system, and be directly rewarded for their efforts.
